You can make a choice of whether you want basic or an advanced edited images. But let’s look at reasons for these differences:
Things like baby hairs sticking up, dog hair over your black jacket, a pimple right in the middle of your forehead, makeup that is smudged or an oily or dry skin. We don’t always have control over these things.
As much as you will try get it perfect, no one can. As the old saying goes or as Forrest Gump likes to put it, “Life is like a box of chocolates, you don’t know what you going to get.”
When you come for your portrait I want to bring out the best in you.
A photo taken of you is a forever memory, it is a stilled image. When people look at a photo it is more a study than what happens in real life. People are doing it subconsciously without even thinking about it.
A photo allows for time. That is what photography is about. And when you still that moment in time, it’s best you take little bit of time and effort to make it look good, don’t you think?
There is a fine line of when to stop when it comes to advance editing. You don’t want to physically change looks and colours or morph the person into something they are not.
Bringing us back to the basics. Basic editing is almost like a preset or a filter for quick edits. I use this mostly for my corporate event imagery so that I can get the job done in-time and ready for the due date which is usually the next day.
For the rest of the time I would rather give you the best of my high quality services.
Taking time could mean a couple of days or even as long as 4 weeks depending on the type of shoot.
Property shoots are quick and delivery is next day but creative shoots and wedding or family shoots take longest.
From a business point of view my aim is to make you and your company look professional and presentable.
As a human race we have the need to feel special. When we receive a gift that is beautifully wrapped and has a big ribbon, these things excite us.
The more time your husband/wife take on writing that birthday card the more we appreciate it. It is the time that person spent out of his/her daily schedule that makes it so special.
It creates a sense of excitement.
If you’re against editing or think it’s fake well I have news for you.
People have been doing it since the time of our existence.
Think about the time the TV was built in the 1920’s or even before that, how would they sell their goods? By spending time on it and making it look good of course.
The same reasons you get out of bed, shower and dress up to look presentable to people.
All it is is a type of marketing tool to use to create attention and prettifying it and there is nothing wrong in doing so.
Maybe it’s time to ask yourself the question, “Am I or my product presentable to people?
Do they jump up and down with absolute excitement?
There is competition out there so best to pull up those socks. No one wants to buy something when it doesn’t look presentable.
Pucker up those lips, make the extra effort and update the outdated.
